A report has revealed more stats on just how much the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look boosted songs and artists’ popularity.
Mat Ombler of MusicEXP has analysed a ton of data and put together a detailed report breaking down things such as growth in Spotify streams, social media stat increases and more. It will cover the week of 27th August to 3rd September.
According to the report, artists featured in the GTA VI Extended Look saw monthly Spotify listeners get boosted an average of 670% week-on-week. The biggest surges were Birdman with 4791%, Kodak Black getting 1880% and Chk Chk Chk (!!!) earning 1429%. As for total new listeners, check out the top 3 here:
The individual songs were hits on their own too. The average increase in streams was 7% across the over a dozen tracks from the trailer. The top 3 increases can be seen below:
Social media accounts of various artists also saw sizeable growth. On average, artists featured in the Extended Look saw their Instagram followers grow by 976% week-on-week. Phil Collins and Elderbrook were the biggest gainers with over 5000 new followers on the Meta-owned platform. As for TikTok, the average week-on-week growth was 1650% with Chimabala earning over 18k followers.
Songs were also Shazamed a lot too. Hundreds of thousands of people used Shazam to find out what song was being played at various points during the 26 minute long video.

- Bob Moses – 450,243 new Spotify Monthly Listeners (up 19.5%)
- Cliff Richard – 230,501 new Spotify Monthly Listeners (up 12.5%)
- The Bellamy Brothers – 225,257 new Spotify Monthly Listeners (up 9.6%)
The individual songs were hits on their own too. The average increase in streams was 7% across the over a dozen tracks from the trailer. The top 3 increases can be seen below:
- “But I Think it’s a Dream” by Captain & Tennille – 80,744 new streams (up 71%)
- “Se Me Nota (Agarrame)” by Chimbala & Omega – 2.47 million new streams (up 12.7%)
- “Inner Light” by Elderbrook & Bob Moses – 4.1 million new streams (3.3%)
Social Growth
