Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to be the 3rd best selling game of all time and it is making more ground past the games it has outsold.
Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive held an earnings call and report on Friday morning revealing a new slate of data for their business. This comes as Take-Two become the world’s largest publicly traded video game publisher following the EA buyout earlier this week. The company’s Q1 2027 results contained updated sales data for GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 and more.
Between May and July, Red Dead Redemption 2 sold around 2 million copies. This is a bit below the average range of 3 million the game has sold every quarter for the past several years. With those 2 million more copies, Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 87 million copies worldwide. This is up from 85 million at the last count back in May. When it hit 85m, it overtook Wii Sports as the 3rd best selling game of all time. It only trails Grand Theft Auto V and Minecraft.
In total, the Red Dead Series has now sold nearly 117 million copies, up from 115 million 3 months ago. This means the first game sold a few more copies too thanks to its new release on modern platforms.
