Why the OP felt it necessary to remove his post from an existing thread on the Angmar revamp and create another one I don't know, I can only assume it's an attention-seeking thing. The other thread deals perfectly well with this subject.

It would seem from their sigs that the people who are now finding Angmar and the aurochs on the way there too easy (edited, I wrongly said tough initially) are (a) lvl 50 and (b) grouping some of it.

Well guess what, those areas aren't primarily aimed at 50's, let alone two or more 50's.

The aurochs are in an area intended for the 30's, and were never being bothered with by anyone when they were elite, few soloers at that level could handle them and I never saw a single group bother with them either. Downgrading them made perfect sense.

Angmar itself is surely intended for late 30's to mid-40's, so of course 50's will find it easy whereas the players it was intended for will now find it much more doable than it was before Book 12.

If you're finding content too easy it isn't always a sign that the game has been dumbed down, it's more often a sign that you're not hunting in the right place. Find a more challenging area, and leave what you consider to be an easy area to those who are at the right level for it.

It's like you're playing a different game to me!

As other people have pointed out are you sure this isn't because you're level 50 and you're remembering the zone from when you were a lower level? I can't imagine a lot of the areas that have been revamped being a challenge to level 50s before they did it.

I was quite skeptical about the whole revamp, but they've done a really good job of it. The quest progression is much, much better and they've made the zone (well the areas around Aughaire) a lot less frustrating to travel in while still keeping the challenge level (FOR THOSE AT THE APPROPRIATE LEVEL!) fairly high.

I think the revamp is a good thing, makes it good fun to play through again, and the quest series make very good sence also. Good progression, even if it does cater more for the solo player.

Been wandering around Bail Dilas earlier, and it's certainly easier. There are areas that used to have lots of wandering elites for no readily apparent reason, now they just hang around the roads, and wander up and down the roads, and are still elites. Quite a few of what were signatures are now normals, which also makes it easier.

Bail Grundail, which relates to a group quest (I assume), is still multiple elites to deal with. Bogbereth's cave looks the same as it did before.

Some bits of Imlad Balchroth are easier, others are harder.

The area north of Gabilshathur is easier to avoid aggro now, and isn't orc infested any more - which fits better with them not finding and overrunning the dwarf camp, tbh.

Didn't notice many differences in Aughaire, as I just passed through it. The Aurochs weren't particularly aggressive before, though, so if they are no longer elite it's not a big deal.

Another improvement - The 'Champions' quests, now start with papers that are identifiable (so you know which you have and haven't got, rather than just seeing 'Black Incantation'), have to be taken to Gath Fornir, not Rivendell, and drop for everyone in the group, not just for one person. We got some off a named elite messenger.

Well if the game becomes more solo-friendly then thank god!

I left soon after release because the high 30s were a pain and didn't at all reflect how the game played in the 10s and 20s. Just now I've started playing a little bit and have seen that you can actually level a bit solo now in the high levels.

Yeah lets stop the need for any group play completely. Everyone playing am MMORPG yet not engaging or meeting anyone. Go play WoW if you want solo play. I like forced grouping, i like playing in a group as part of a team. Solo gets so damn boring after a while

Why do you have to assume that making a game a bit more solo-friendly is the same as stopping the need for any group play completely?

Why also do you assume that a game needs to be forced grouping for you to be able to group?

There are games that balance solo, group, and raid perfectly so that everyone can play his or her own preferred playstyle. EQ2 is one. If this becomes another then all credit to Turbine.

No soloer will ever tell a grouper to go play FFX1 if he/she wants forced grouping, it's rather sad that groupers are always telling soloers to go play WoW or Oblivion. Insecure or what?!

We've all chosen to play this game, let's see if we can't all play the way we prefer to do without criticising the way others choose to play it. There's room for all playstyles, let's hope the developers have the wit to cater for them. Maximising your market appeal has to make good business sense in a rapidly over-crowded market.

I'm assuming you will supply us with a full group for all the group quests then, myes?
Of course, it has to be instantly as I log on since I don't really have a lot of time to play.

Forced grouping is a remnant from the time where devs had no clue. Let's leave it back then, shall we?

Hm, all this grouping talk reminds me of those grey group quests I've never managed to do yet. Yeah, those are so much better than the gazillion solo quests I've done. I much prefer having a quest log stuffed with group quests that's impossible to get groups for.

Well if you actually look at my Sig I have more than a level 50 so no it's not gone easy mode just cos of my level 50.

Before book 12 I needed a hunter or someone to port my captain to GF for epic quest line. (Angmar is for levels 40 to 50 btw)

Over the past 2 days she's not only got to GF by herself but killed Chilligrip (needed rescuing from him before new book when spawned on her) and done quests above her level all SOLO and gone up 2 levels.

My level 41 hunter is quickly doing the same too.

Now I'm turning kin members away asking if need help as I don't need help in Angmar anymore and if they did help it'll be that easy I'd be falling asleep.

I'm enjoying Angmar immensely. If it weren't for the revamp then I would have probably, eventually given up because my friends don't play all that often as they play other mmorpgs, therefore I mainly solo. (shy person)

Someone said earlier that lotro was all about forced grouping. From where I've been sitting, there's always been the choice of both and I'm glad that they have now revamped one area that allows you to do that.

I really don't know why people who love to group with others feel threatened by a few that just love relaxing and playing a game how they want by themselves. There are plenty of challenges for all sorts of players in Lords of the Rings and I'm grateful for that.
