lol amusing post. LOTRO certainly isn't unpopular it's getting more popular by the day. I tend to play after 1am most of the time and there's plenty of people around even then. In the daytime the game is pretty full so don't think it could be rated as an unpopular game.

The game is nothing like Wow by the way. I played that and didn't like it. It's popular yea but It's not even in my top 5. LOTRO has little resemblance to it and is far superior IMO.

LOTRO isn't even in my TOP 10. There are no MMOs in my TOP 10! So when you say "it isn't even in my top 5" it sounds like "it's not even one of the best games I've played". I don't know, sounds strange to me

Well I mean in my top 5 MMORPG's not my top 5 games ever! LOTRO is in my top 10 games but WOW wouldn't even get in my top 50

Thats better  (phew). I still think WoW is not just a great game, it's amazing... But the people playing it aren't. Thats the problem. So I am waiting for the next Blizz MMO (which is in development) and I am sure it will be once again great... until the parents show their kids the game...

I think WoW a bit expensive as well. If I remember rightly it was about £15/month wheras LOTRO founders can play LOTRO for about £5.99/month. Pleasure correct me if WoW is cheaper now. I think I agree with you that it's the majority of player that put me off.

I have stopped playing LoTRO due to a number of factors one of which the movement continually gave me a headache (some sort of lag in the system; commonly known as Latency).

I have turned to EvE Online which can be played by people from around the world at the same time, it is played on one server. This may meet your requirements to play a game with friends in the states. I play online at the same time with people from Australia and the east/west coast of the states. The Game is only available by downloading from the internet, monthly cost is £11.00.
