hi all when i was playing lotro i did some quest with this guy. he said he could not be botehred leveling up on this game and working up on the game and thought this game was exactly like wow.? do u think this might be one of the reasons why the game might be unpopular or not many ppl play this game? what do you guys think?

200 000 people signed up for the beta. The first 2 or 3 months LOTRO sold better than WoW. LOTRO is the MMO of the year and, according to the players it is the PC game of the year (Golden Joystick). It is popular. But not as popular as WoW - WoW has 9 300 000 players and that's half of the MMO players. And there are some kiddos who think that "LOTRO is a total WoW rip-off, it sssssuuucks!" Like someone needs them. LOTRO is more of a mature game and I hope it will stay this way..

Indeed. I can live without the masses from WoW coming over  Snowbourn continues to be very busy alsmot all the time

I agree, LotRO does not seem to be unpopular at all. It's just not as crowded as World of Warcraft and has a player base that's more on the mature side.

i personaly like LOTRO to WOW anyway

lol amusing post. LOTRO certainly isn't unpopular it's getting more popular by the day. I tend to play after 1am most of the time and there's plenty of people around even then. In the daytime the game is pretty full so don't think it could be rated as an unpopular game.

The game is nothing like Wow by the way. I played that and didn't like it. It's popular yea but It's not even in my top 5. LOTRO has little resemblance to it and is far superior IMO.

I think the main 2 reasons why Lotro will not/did not become like WoW is because 1: It works the same as with brands.. Everybody is playing WoW so I will start playing it aswell. People prefer to play with real life friends and because everybody is already playing WoW they will pick WoW instead of Lotro.

2: If you want to have the most fun in Lotro (imho) you will have to like the movie/books/stories. If you have read the book or even seen the movie you will just love this game because you see so many stuff you reconize.

To be very honest, the reason why I started playing lotro is because WoW just looks to cartoonish.. AND the nr. 1 reason.. I WANT A FEMALE ELF TO PLAY WITH !!

When you get to places like Estilden and Angmar you realize how many people are not playing this game. Its very hard t get groups and if you do they are not exactly perfect. I think the problem is that it looks like a wow ripoff so people will take one look at it and think wow. So maybe if the company did things to make it unique other people might start joining, and i might start going up a level

LOTRO isn't even in my TOP 10. There are no MMOs in my TOP 10! So when you say "it isn't even in my top 5" it sounds like "it's not even one of the best games I've played". I don't know, sounds strange to me

World of Warcraft??! is World of Crap...
