Dungeons and Dragons Online or Lord of the Rings?

Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of trying to drop my World of Warcraft account (My brother just got his druid to 70 and won't quit...). So, I'm trying to decide between LOTR and DDO. Lore-wise, I've never played D&D, and I've seen (but never payed attention to) the LOTR movies. I'm looking for the one thats a little more competitive action than what WoW has to offer.

Ex:

Click to attack
Fast Paced
FUNGEONS !!!
Lots of PvP, and I mean LOTS. Like, you walk around and your head explodes.
(World PvP + "Battlegrounds")

Graphics don't really matter to me, but I'm thinking of updating my GFX card soon so they can be high-end.

So, DDO or LOTR?

I didnt like DDO after playing for 5 minutes.

Lotro has great pve but no pvp only pvmp which you can enter you character from 45+ and you can create a monster which is lvl 50 when you reach level 10 with your character.

ok LOTRO have only a kinda battleground or a area of it not World PvP so i would say DDo might be the best for what you're looking for

in ddo you can chose to have combat in 2 different ways one way is the same as wow...click your opponent choose attack....the other way is you aim at your enemy and swing your sword/shoot an arrow etc. ....ddo has a lot of dungeons and in the dungeons its really fast paced due to the fact that is has traps and hidden doors and such so it has a much more reality to the game.....

i belive lotro has more lore to it though.....and the surroundings are beautiful in the game...has best graphics out of any mmo ive played to date....and this game plays out more like wow where you explore outside areas more than dungeons....another thing about lotro is that most creatures dont just attack you some of them give you warnings like real life animals and some just chase you away from there area.....you can find yourself just staring at the environment for a while....and combat in this game is like wow click on enemy choose attack....

so when you think about it both of these games are must own.....but what you can do is do the trial on both and decide then

Isn't DDO instanced as hell ? Lotro has good instaces too btw, but yeah theres 1 zone where you can do PvMP theres a PvMP dungeon too where you can get pvmp set-items and skills (for the monsters side)

DDO was incredible, imo. Everything about it was great, whereas LOTRO was simply meh.

Meh, to me DDO and lotro are not even the same genre, lotro is very open-worlded wheras DDO has a more insanced and action-oriented gameplay. It depends which kind you like more, both are splendid games imo though, why not try out both and decide then instead of asking peoples oppionions

BTW I thought the same Elaz, untill i tried my first dugneon in lotro last time, damn I've ran it 5 times since then and still cant stop enjoying myself ^^

if i can recall there are some outside instances that you can visit but then again i havent played in a while so i rly cant confirm it.....LOTR is massive and community is great but no pvp DDO is fun and somehow addictive and game has active events and what not all the time

LOTRO needs to make a better PVP system, maybe open world pvp, maybe they could add it in a future expansion where some players can be on the other faction (not pvmp) but actually level up to level 50, and can go into the human/dwarf/elf/hobbit areas to gank etc.
